In today’s era, we all use the metro in our day to day lives. It has become the wheel of our lives. We all travel through the metro every day. It’ low fair prices, high frequency, and comfortable rides has made our travel very easy. And a metro card or metro smart card has made it easier for us to access the transit service. With a minimum balance of 100, it helps us to save a lot of money.

But recharging it can sometimes become a headache, due to long queues. However, there are other ways too to recharge the metro card. You can recharge your metro card via Paytm.

Follow these simple steps to recharge your metro card via Paytm

Step 1: Open your Paytm app on your phone
Step 2: Select your city metro
Step 3: Enter your card number
Step 4: Enter the amount you want to recharge with, like Rs. 100, Rs. 200 etc
Step 5: Click on the ‘proceed’ option.

  • You have successfully recharged your metro card. If there is a promo code, you can apply it to get cashback and then proceed with payment.

Follow these steps to recharge your metro card via online mode

Step 1: Visit www.dmrcsmartcard.com (Official website of Delhi Rail Corporation Limited).
Step 2: Then enter metro card information.
Step 3: After that, enter the amount (Next to the ‘Card ID’ option).
Step 4: Enter the given text and click on the ‘Continue’ option.
Step 5: A new page will appear, here enter your email-ID and select the payment mode.
Step 6: You have to select any one option to make payment. Credit Card, Debit card, net banking or wallet)
Step 7: After selecting your payment option, again two options will appear (Powered by ICIC bank or powered by Paytm)
Step 8: Select your option and click on ‘Check Out’.
Step 9: If you select the card payment option then you have to enter your credit card number, expiry date, CVV and name on the card. If you select an option, then you have to enter your credit card number, expiry date, and CVV/security code.
Step 10: After entering all the details click on the ‘Pay Now’ option.

You will receive a confirmation mail after your payment is successfully done. Now you have to visit AVM to update the amount or complete the transaction. AVM is installed at all the metro stations.
